Just Bitchin’ about: Mean Kids!
Okay, so today was a good day at the start. Kids were up at a relatively decent time, dressed and to school on time. Got to go play some tennis and got a few things done… Then, I picked up the kids at school and got an earful from one of them about several kids who made fun of his middle name…. Okay, I get the fact that his middle name is not very “hip.” But, it’s after his Great-grandfather and it’s to honor him…who, if alive, would probably intimidate the hell out of them (aahhh … wouldn’t that be nice!!) But, to make fun of it over and over again.. really!!! I don’t blame him for yelling a bit, and for being frustrated… I’d like for these classmates to back the hell off and show some respect (which is supposed to be one of the values their school promotes.. that’s for a later blog!).
Do these kids really have no social skills that allow themselves to show restraint when someone is obviously upset? If they are that fucking shallow to make fun of, and continue to do so, about a man’s name who is dead.. then they really do deserve to be put in their place. However, we teach our kids to show some class.. But, what if we (as the parent) could “swoop” in and just tell the kids:
“Who do you think you are?”,
“When you see me (or any adult) smile, or, at the very least, stop the crap you are doing and at least fake the smile!”,
“Yes, I did just give you the evil eye you little shit! And, the next time you decide to say or do something mean to one of my kids… it won’t just be the looks I’m giving you that you will be complaining about.. “
“You had better wipe that fucking smug ass smile off your face before I let everyone know what an insecure shithead you really are… Seriously, do your parents even teach you anything?”
Not to get too specific but wouldn’t it be nice if we could simply tell our kids to look at these “bullies” and simply say, “Shut the fuck up… whatever you say to me means jack shit and you will work for my kid one day.”
Not that I will ever really say these out loud (just under my breath) so they can hear it. But, if it continues, it could make for an interesting blog..
“Quit your Bitchin’….that’s why I’m here!”
